Green Champion Award
P.S.V College of Engineering and Technology, Krishnagiri, has been adjudged the Green Champion Awards of Krishnagiri District by the Union government for its outstanding contribution to Swachhta Activities. Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) under the department of Higher Education and Ministry of Education honours institutes in each district for the Institution has successfully set up the Swachhta Action Plan Committee, adopted and implemented best practices in the areas of Sanitation, Hygiene, Waste Management, Water Management, Energy Management and Greenery Management. Also contributing to Swachhta Education and practice. P.S.V College of Engineering and Technology has won the Green champion Award. KrishngiriDistrict Collector Dr. V. Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy, IAS, handed over the award to College Principal Dr.P.Lawrence, Dr.M.P.Senthilkumar andSwachhta Coordinator Dr.M.Srinivasan on Monday. The award is based on the following parameters, water management, green campus, number tree saplings planted in and around villages, waste management, green energy, renewable energy and creating the awareness among the public to plastic free society. Around 1000 higher educational institutions participating in the one district One Green champion awards organized by MGNCRE. The awards were announced on the occasion of Earth Day.
P.S.V Group of Education Chairman Dr.P.Selvam and Secretary Dr.S.Vivekboth said that, the award is a testimony to our commitment towards institutional social responsibility, clean India and self-reliant India with utmost sincerity. The college has always mobilized resources for various pro-environment events, such as cleanliness and plantation campaign in and around the campus. The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. Our College adopted five villages under UBA, many of students are participating in these events.
